Woah, already? Thank you all so much! There's not much on the site yet, but I feel kind of excited that there have already been so many eyes on this project, even if it's in passing. No followers yet, but I can hardly blame ya; there's not really a lot yet. Still, I think it's cool that I've had this place for less than a month, and already so many people have seen it!

Hopefully, as I keep adding things slowly to the site, more and more people will stumble upon it and think that it's neat. I don't spend a lot of time on Neocities, so that's likely why changes have been slow. It's not part of my daily routine yet. To be honest, I don't know if it will ever be, but I'm at least happy to have my own little corner of the web.

What's Been Going On

So, we did get the microphone for Let's Plays, but it got shipped to the wrong address. It shipped to an old address that we used to be at. Luckily, I was able to pick it up, and I got to say "Hi" to a number of old friends! Still, that took a big toll on me because of my leg. I'm about halfway through the healing process, and I'll be hearing soon enough on whether or not I've been doing a good job.

The other thing that happened is that my CFW Switch is deciding to be a jerk. I've spent, no joke, the past three days trying to get it to work! There was some issues with how it was handling the dumped game carts, and so I decided to take this opportunity to upgrade to a bigger SD card. Nope! The bigger card was cheap, and so it's acting haywire! I'm this close to getting it to work, but I'm giving up and using my old card. Nothing is wrong with the old card, but I'm frustrated that I can't use the new card. I was excited to have more room for more games, but alas, 'twas not meant to be.

Let my downfall be a lesson: Don't always buy the cheapest available option. Sometimes, it's a scam. Sometimes, it just doesn't work. Sometimes, it does work out, but be careful! You don't always have to spring for the most expensive or highest quality; you should take into account your price range and project, of course. Still, if you buy tech cheap, there might be a reason it was worth so much less.

On Editing and Tech

I'm a little nervous about doing the Let's Play because of the audio editing. I want to normalize the audio just right so that y'all don't have to turn up the volume just to listen to us, nor will a sudden spike in recorded volume jar the listener too much. However, audio editing and video editing are just skills that I've never really picked up. I've messed around with Audacity before, but never in a professional setting. I have even less experience with video editing; I just picked up OpenShot because it's open source with some Blender and Inkscape plugin functionality. I want this to be an enjoyable experience, but I'm worried about how unexperienced I am.

Still, even the masters once started off as students, and while it isn't my end goal to be a master, I will improve with practice. It's just a matter of actually doing it. Getting over the first obstacle is always tricky; it's easy to get tangled in the web of self-consciousness and nerves. At least, it's that way for me.

Today's Final Thoughts:

Projects are difficult because the result, even with all the right tools and intentions, will not be perfect. Sometimes, they just plain won't work. It's even okay to quit sometimes. It hurts, but that's okay. It's part of the process. You will learn and grow with practice, and this is a lifelong skill to be honed. It's something that I struggle with; I'm a very stubborn, determined person who feels the need to complete whatever I set my mind to, but this isn't always achievable, nor is it always healthy. It's human to have limitations and to need to reach out for help. See the imperfections as your fingerprints on the end result, and you'll always see the humanity in it.
