Aprimon Stats Intro
CA: I've been collecting Aprimon for a while now, and I've made a write-up of the statistics that my collection showed at 25% completion.
CA: With ~1300 Pokemon to use as data points out of a total ~5100, I felt like this snapshot would be statistically significant enough that some some interesting insights could be drawn.
CA: Approximately one month later, I've hit 50% collection completion, and I'm excited to see what trends, if any, have held!
CA: Since this is meant to be seen in comparison with the previous work, I recommend reading the previous write-up first so that readers have an idea what methodology was used, what assumptions were made, and what conclusions were reached.
CA: Additionally, in every window that shows a statistics chart, the first chart will be the raw numbers of the collection at this new snapshot in time, and a second chart will be directly below it that shows change in raw numbers and in percent of the collection (more details on the latter in the next section).
CA: Finally, it should be noted that the original spreadsheet that was used to collect the first snapshot has unfortunately failed, so now the statistical analysis is based on a secondary sheet that was created as a "life raft" from the first one.
CA: There have been a few changes as a result of this transfer of the collection into a new data sheet, which are detailed in the following changelog:
  • Changeable forms, such as Deerling and Oricorio are now listed as one form.
  • Some non-changing inheritable forms such as Flabebe have been removed.
  • Baby Pokemon that were introduced in a different Generation than its evolved form such as Pichu, Azurill, Budew have been removed and are instead listed as their evolved forms.

CA: In addition to the changelog above, it should be noted that, while I believe that the transfer of data was complete without mistakes, it's more than possible for there to be some errors that slipped through the cracks.
CA: However, I believe that even with the above caveats in mind, the data has not been substantially transformed nor damaged, and therefore can still be used in comparison to the "legacy" snapshot from a month ago.

Statistics Breakdown - By Poke Ball Type
CA: First, let's get oriented with how this comparison works.
CA: As previously stated, the first chart shows the raw numbers of the collection at this snapshot in time, similar to how the previous write-up worked.
CA: The second chart shows the changes in the raw numbers from the 2026/07/10 snapshot to this 2026/08/11 snapshot.
CA: The raw numbers are easy to understand on their own, but what's with those percentages, and why are some of them negative?
CA: It looks weird at first, since the collection has gone up in every raw number, but what that percentage means is how much that data point has changed as a portion of a given Poke Ball collection.
CA: For example, Dream Ball is still my most complete collection with ~62% of the possible Dream Ball combinations currently in my possession, and this segment makes up ~11% of the overall collection.
CA: In the previous snapshot, the Dream Ball collection made up ~13% of the overall collection, meaning that it now has ~2% less "share" of the overall collection in comparison to the previous collection.
CA: If you sum up all the percentage changes in this row, it will total 0%, which makes sense because for one collection to decrease in proportion, another collection (or set of collections) would have had to increase by that same amount.
CA: For a simpler visualization, imagine that I only had 100 Pokemon, and I was only collecting them in two Poke Ball types, Safari Ball and Sport Ball.
CA: In this example, let's say that my collection was made of 50 Safari Ball Pokemon and 50 Sport Ball Pokemon, meaning that each Poke Ball represented 50% of the overall collection.
CA: Now, let's say that in a later snapshot, my collection consisted of 200 Pokemon made up of 50 Safari Ball Pokemon and 150 Sport Ball Pokemon.
CA: The Safari Ball Pokemon would represent 25% of the collection while the Sport Ball Pokemon would make up 75% of the collection, which would be shown as a 25% decrease for Safari Ball Pokemon and a 25% increase for Sport Ball Pokemon.
CA: While the raw numbers for the Safari Ball Pokemon did not change in this example, the percent of the population it represented did change, and this change would be shown as a negative percent.
CA: Similarly, while the Sport Ball raw numbers tripled in size, that is not what the percent increase is showing.
CA: Instead, it is showing how much more of the population is Sport Ball Pokemon, percentage-wise.
CA: We can use these to estimate how fast each collection grew, proportionally.
CA: Larger collections would need to grow faster than smaller collections to maintain that lead, so while a larger collection may still have gained more raw numbers than a smaller one, the smaller collection could still grow proportionally faster.
CA: Looking at my collection, the Sport Ball collection wins this category, gaining ~4.5% of the total share of the collection.
CA: Meanwhile, the numbers for the Moon Ball and Dream Ball have stagnated, with Love Ball and Beast Ball also slowing down.
CA: To me, this makes sense; the four Poke Balls that have slowed down were at 30% completion during the first snapshot, and while they've all hit the 50 - 60% mark, meaning that those collections have doubled in size, the Sport Ball collection was at ~6% completion and is now at almost 40% completion!
CA: This, to me, shows something that makes intuitive sense; as a collection is nearing completion, the rate at which new combos are obtained slows down.
CA: Instead of being able to accept, say, any given Moon Ball Pokemon, now I specifically have to look for the ~46% of Moon Ball Pokemon that I don't already have, cutting my options in half.
CA: We will likely see this trend affect other aspects of the collection in other breakdowns.
