Sonic the Hedgehog Intro
CA: The first Sonic the Hedgehog game I owned was Sonic Advance 3 on the GameBoy Advance.
CA: Why was it the third one instead of the first and / or second?
CA: I have no clue!
CA: But, I really liked the pair-up mechanic and I feel that it still holds up as a 2D Sonic platformer game.
CA: The Sonic Advance series has heavily influenced my sprite art, and I did make quite a few pallet-swap Sonic OCs as a result.
CA: I would say that my favorite Sonic game so far is still Sonic Riders, which I owned on the GameCube.
CA: Of course, Sonic Heroes also gets a shout-out for being a fun game also with team-up mechanics, which is something that I still like in a Sonic game.
CA: Nearly every aspect of the Sonic franchise or a given Sonic game is heavily debated, so I tend to avoid Sonic fan spaces, but I do want to talk about some of the things that I like, so this is the place for that.
CA: Be prepared for a lot of discussion about Sonic's friends and how they should do another Sonic Riders game instead of Sonic Racers!

Sonic Riders: My Favorite Sonic Game
CA: I think that my favorite Sonic game is still Sonic Riders.
CA: I love its sense of speed, artstyle, mechanics, characterization, original characters, and lore.
CA: The general plot is that Dr. Eggman discovered legends about an ancient civilization of master thieves called the Babylonians, and Eggman tricks their living descendants, the Babylon Rogues, into working with him to steal the Chaos Emeralds.
CA: Sonic fails to stop the Babylon Rogues from stealing a Chaos Emerald in Metal City, but he and his friends hear about the EX World Grand Prix the next day and decide to enter, knowing that it's a plot from Eggman, in order to stop whatever the villain is planning.
CA: At the end of the Grand Prix, the leader of the Babylon Rogues, Jet the Hawk, uses the Chaos Emeralds and the Key to Babylon Garden to cause Babylon Garden to rise out of the Sand Ruins.
CA: Eggman steals the Key and the Chaos Emeralds, and he flies towards Babylon Garden to find the treasure before either Team Sonic or the Babylon Rogues can stop him.
CA: Of course, our heroes save the day, but they have to fend off the Babylon Guardian, and they are rewarded with the Magic Carpet, said to be the prototype for the first Extreme Gear, considered the greatest treasure to the Babylonians since it allowed them to become legendary flying thieves.
CA: Eggman is disappointed by the treasure and leaves, but it allowed the Babylon Rogues to learn more about their history and culture, and they are able to visit Babylon Garden whenever they want.
CA: Jet and Sonic share some parting words, promising to continue to be rivals in racing, and the two teams disperse to pursue their own goals.
